Amber Burke has 20 years of experience working as a mental health therapist. For 11 of those years she worked in acute crisis settings (inpatient, partial hospitalization, and the psychiatric immediate care clinic) and for the last 9 years she has been with GCC as an independent therapist.

Amber works with teenagers and adults at GCC. Over the last few years she has developed a special interest in working with clients in the age bracket of 18-25, patients and families facing cancer diagnosis, post-partum depression, and trauma. She works with several modalities often focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, mindfulness, client-centered, and solution-focused approaches to therapy sessions. Amber’s experience has allowed her to assist clients with a myriad of concerns such as; crisis, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship stressors, parenting, trauma, stress management, and life transitions.

Amber puts a strong emphasis on individualized treatment for each client and works to create a warm and non-judgmental environment to foster the therapeutic process.

Outside of her work at GCC, Amber enjoys spending time with her family by attending her son’s sporting and academic events, golfing with her husband, exercising, and cooking and baking.
